The Strand

The property was an early 1990's new build with the kitchen already in place, not to be changed. A two-bedroom flat to be made homely with minimal changes, adding personality to the space, using some of the customers furniture besides new furniture and lighting purchases and rehanging the client’s artwork. The entrance was given a quirky, modern wallpaper to tie in the existing wooden bench adding ‘flavour’ to an otherwise ‘neutral’ space. The long hallway leading into a dark end received the boost of an orange wall. Woodnotes partitions were installed in the bedroom along the extensive windows, keeping a light atmosphere in an otherwise ‘dark’ room with low ceiling and unattractive views. The living room received layered, light linen curtains, adding softness and a sense of privacy to the room. The furniture between the kitchen and the living space had to correspond well between the two functions of the large open space forming the main character of the flat. The outdoor furniture had to visually support the indoor setting.

Customer review: Christina has worked on three different projects over the past nine years - two London flats and a holiday flat in Spain. She has a wonderful combination of great design sense, intuitive connection to customer requirements and an important budget balance of splash vs save!
