Living In A Mansion Block

The client, a professional couple with no children, renting a two-bedroom flat in a Victorian mansion block. The flat required no decorating but was in need to be furnished. The aim was to give a traditional space a personal, timeless flair by mixing a variety of styles within the modernist range to create an individual ‘flavour’. The living room has a seating, TV and dining area. All requiring their own setting but to be visually joined together. A large collection of music CDs were stored in Vitsoe shelving which worked well as a backdrop for the room settings. The furniture, a mix by different designers, all individual in visual language still creating a harmonious whole.

For the bedroom we produced new curtains using a high-quality furniture fabric not requiring additional black out. This makes the curtains lighter in character with better fall than lined curtains do. The same fabric was used for the head-board, tying the elements together. Simple white bedlinen added a fresh uncomplicated look which always works well. The result shows, focusing on quality, choosing specific pieces, creates an interesting, inspiring setting, serving its owners well. The selected pieces will last a lifetime and longer so no need to upgrade or change.
